Marathon training - 3:20 to 3:25 attempt

Weekly Summary (03/17 - 03/23)

Monday - Rest day..still sore from the weekend half-marathon
Tuesday - 12 miles with 6 x 1 miles at HMP (7:08 min/mile) with 1 minute jog rest. Felt good for the 1st 4 repeats, the last 2 were a little bit of a slog..maybe because of the fatigue from the half-marathon.
Wednesday - 6 miles easy pace
Thursday - 6 miles with 6 x 1K at CV pace (6:40 min/mile) with 400m jog rest. Felt really good..all under control.
Friday - 11 miles easy pace
Saturday - Long run of 18 miles...1st 6 miles @ 8:30 min/mile..next 6 miles @ 8:15 min/mile..last 6 miles @ 7:40 min/mile (GMP)..Felt great for the long run; could have gone on at GMP for another 2 miles or so, but didn't want to strain myself too much.
Sunday - 12 miles easy pace.

Weekly total of 65 miles. My highest mileage week in the last 4 weeks. Have been averaging about 55 miles a week for the last 4 weeks.

Weekly Summary (03/24 - 03/30):

Life intervened this week, with wife needing to travel internationally.
Did a lot of strength training because I was unable to leave the house due to baby-sitting responsibilities. :)
I had a 1 hour window to run on Tuesday and Friday as the daughter went for 1 hour classes.

Monday - Strength training
Tuesday - 7 miles with 5 miles @ 7:40 min/mile (MP)
Wednesday - Strength training
Thursday - Strength training
Friday - 8 miles with 6 miles @ 7:40 min/mile (MP)
Saturday - Strength training + Badminton
Sunday - Badminton

Weekly total of 15 miles. Lowest weekly mileage in many months :).

Next week, I am hopeful of getting my mileage back up to about 45 miles by running during lunch at office (Monday to Friday). Will hopefully be able to resume normal training starting the week of April 7th.

Don't know how much of an overall negative impact this week and the next week will have on the upcoming marathon.

Weekly Summary (03/31 - 04/06)

Monday - 8 miles Easy
Tuesday - 10 miles total with 10 x 800 @ CV pace (6:40 min/mile) with 2 minute jog recoveries. Felt great; could easy have done 2-3 more repeats.
Wednesday - Strength work
Thursday - 8 miles Easy
Friday - Long run of 20 miles @ 8:06 pace..last 6 miles @ marathon pace (7:40 min/mile). Overall felt great!
Saturday - Other sports
Sunday - Other sports

Weekly total of 46 miles.

Weekly Summary (04/07 - 04/13)

Monday - 8 miles Easy
Tuesday - 7 miles Easy
Wednesday - Strength work
Thursday - 14 miles with 12 miles @ marathon pace (7:40 min/mile). Felt good overall; had to work hard to hit splits in miles 11 and 12.
Friday - 7 miles Easy
Saturday - 5 miles Easy
Sunday - Long run of 23.5 miles @ 8:15 pace. Plan was to run marathon pace from miles 16 - 23. But bailed out of marathon pace at mile 20 [no strngth :(] and ran MP + 20secs till the end. So, miles 16-20 @ MP (7:40 min/mile) and miles 21-23.5 @ 8 min/mile.

Weekly total of 64.5 miles.Last big week before the marathon on May 3rd.

Weekly Summary (04/14 - 04/20)

Taper time for the May 3rd marathon :)

Monday - 5 miles Easy
Tuesday - 3.3 miles Easy
Wednesday - 7 miles with 6 miles at Marathon pace (7:40/mile)
Thursday - 5K race at office..ran 18:30 for a short course (2.85 miles)
Friday - Rest Day
Saturday - 13 miles Easy
Sunday - Long run of 17 miles with last 10 miles at Marathon pace (7:40/mile) on the course of the race.

Weekly total of 48 miles.
